Regular cleaning and maintenance should be scheduled to achieve maximum performance and full lamp-life from your 2K UV Fastlane System.
Lamps and reflectors must be clean at the time of installation and maintained so the UV energy generated can reach the primer / paint.
A dirty reflector will reduce cure rates and increase temperature. The reflector returns approximately 50-60% of lamp energy. The dirt and dust on the reflector may cause overheating which will in effect cause warping and a drastic reduction of curing performance.
Regular Maintenance Checklist:
Electrical: At the beginning and end of each shift check all electrical hookups for proper connection, any broken, damaged, frayed wires or plugs should be reported and repaired or changed before operation.
Filter Changeout: The system is air-cooled, check the fans on both the Irradiator (handheld unit) and Standby Nest are operating and not damaged, check the filters are clean and free of debris. These can be removed with compressed air, or changed if required. It is recommended that all filters are changed out every 50hrs of use, or sooner if necessary. We provide enough filters to make sure that this aspect of maintenance is never neglected.
Fan Check: During filter maintenance, it is recommended that you visually inspect the fans on the system to ensure that no blades are missing, broken, or bent.
Lamp Cleaning: The lamp and reflector must be cleaned if dirt, dust or debris are present. This is done by unplugging the Irradiator and removing the cartridge form the housing, (full instructions are in manual provided). Lint free gloves should be worn whenever handling, changing or cleaning a UV Lamp. Please use the provided wipes or if you cannot find one, only use wipes with 99.9% isopropyl alcohol. DO NOT use steel wool, emery paper, or abrasive powders for cleaning lamps or reflectors.
