Product VS Solution: A Realization
When we first started selling our groundbreaking UV Fastlane System, we quickly realized that we had 2 major types of customers:
The Toy Collector: This customer owns or runs a high end shop so nice you could eat off the floor. They have every neat, fancy tool in the business and an equipment purchase for them is a drop in the bucket. This is the type of customer we expected (and totally appreciate).
The Businessman: We were, however, very surprised to find that some pretty small shops were also buying our systems very enthusiastically. These were shops doing a few cars a week that we never expected to be in our target-market. We were soon to learn just how wrong we were. These customers were real pros and they started using our systems to revolutionize their business and acquire new customers. The details varied but most followed a basic pattern:
- Month 1-2: Start using UV primer for nearly every repair. Eliminate the prep and prime bottleneck and improve the quality of the repairs. Drastically reduce average repair time within the existing repair process.
- Month 3-4: Change the repair process now that prep and priming can be done on demand and primer can be cured (not just dried) instantly. Start blueprinting and reorganizing the repair process to take into account the new reality of prep and prime. Increase the speed of each repair while also lowering their cost.
- Month 5+: Improve customer satisfaction and insurance score-cards. Offer RUSH and sometime same-day service. Improve relationships with insurance companies to get more business.
These customers increased their capabilities to the point where they could finish 1 or 2 more cars per day and maybe more importantly, were able to leverage these added capabilities to get more customers.
We make some pretty bold claims about the UV Fastlane process and what it can do . This is not so we can get some quick sales and create some unhappy customers. The reality is that when we install a UVFastlane 2K System into a shop and onboard their staff, we are essentially earning a new partner.
We do not want you to buy the system and have it sit in the corner. We want you to buy into the process and we want to help you make more money in your business. If we believe that the UV Fastlane Process is not right for you and will not help your bottom line substantially, we won't recommend it for you.
